What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic treatment focuses on restoring musculoskeletal function, improving movement, and relieving pain. Osteopaths assess structural, functional, and postural imbalances to create personalised treatment plans.

Treatment includes hands on techniques to release tense or restricted tissues. Osteopaths are trained to diagnose and manage musculoskeletal disorders, such as:

  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain

  • Some headaches

  • Pregnancy-related pain (e.g., back strain, joint pain)

  • Lower back, pelvic, and limb pain

  • Childhood musculoskeletal conditions

  • Sports injuries and rehabilitation

  • Acute trauma management

Techniques used for pain relief include:

  • Soft tissue massage

  • Joint manipulation and mobilisation

  • Muscle energy techniques

  • Home advice on ergonomics and exercise

  •

At Keilor Health Centre, we focus on long term solutions, offering self-management strategies like stretching, strengthening exercises, and practical advice for home and work.

Our osteopaths are university-educated, government-registered, and recognised by private health insurers and organisations like Medicare and WorkSafe.
